North Marin Community Services Celebrates 50th Anniversary!
Ashe Cosgrove client, North Marin Community Services, is celebrating their 50th anniversary!
North Marin Community Services evolved as a 501(c)(3)nonprofit on January 1, 2018 through a merger between the Novato Youth Center and Novato Human Needs Center — two organizations that sprouted from grassroots, community efforts.
After nearly two years of planning and meetings, the governing Boards of both sister organizations voted unanimously to officially merge after more than four decades of both agencies serving the Novato community.

As the anchor human services nonprofit organization serving North Marin, their multi-service organization is called upon to address health disparities for children, adults, families, seniors and immigrants.
Their services help to correct Marin’s extreme income, racial and educational inequalities, and ensure opportunities for all, especially the most vulnerable clients.
Paul Russell

Paul Russell, Director of Operations, has a long history with the organization. “I vividly remember walking into the lobby here and visiting the game room when I was 7 years old!” he says.
Paul was born and raised in Novato attending local schools and has distinct memories of meeting his friends at what was then known as the Novato Boys Club.
He graduated from Marin Catholic High School and received a Bachelor of the Arts from the University of Chicago. After several years in the outdoor recreation industry, Paul returned to the Bay Area and began a career focused on helping others through non-profits
Ashe Cosgrove Supports the IT needs for all 63 of Their Employees
"Most of our employees were working in a desktop environment before the pandemic," Russell says. "Ashe Cosgrove seamlessly transitioned us to laptops and implemented the required security measures."
MMCS celebrated their annual "Thriller Thursday" Halloween fundraiser. This year's theme: "Back to the Future!" Over $219,000 was raised -virtually!
